A trainee IPS officer who has been accused of sexually harassing and assaulting his fellow trainee officer at National Police Academy (NPA) in Hyderabad has now been arrested. This is a major step in the case as Police took the case very carefully. Hyderabad Police arrested the IPS officer at Miryalaguda in Telangana’s Nalgonda district and brought him to Hyderabad for further questioning on Tuesday.
A trainee IPS officer accused of sexual harassment and assault by a fellow trainee at Hyderabad’s National Police Academy was arrested in Telangana. He faces allegations including sending explicit messages, secret video recording, and blackmail.
Allegations Made by Fellow IPS Trainee
The case started after women IPS trainee officer filed an complaint against fellow male IPS officer for repeated sexual harassment, abusive behaviour and blackmailing. According to the complaint by the female IPS trainee, he allegedly sent the sexual explicit messages on WhatsApp and used derogatory language against her. She also made allegations that he threatened her using a knife.
She also claimed that male IPS trainee officer recorded her private video secretly and sent it to her husband to blackmail her and intimidate her.
Officer Had Approached High Court
The Police said that the male officer was not available when the investigation started to record his part of statement. Which made Police leading to reports that he has gone into hiding, however, according to IPS trainee he went to his native village because of his grandmother was unwell.
He also appealed at Telangana High Court to quash FIR registered against him, while claiming that he had faith in the judicial process.
Earlier Suicide Attempt Reports
The case interesting turn when the male IPS trainee officer allegedly tried to attempt suicide, however, later doctors clarified that it was not suicide but his condition was caused after he took excessive alcohol consumption.
An alleged suicide note spread on social media claiming to be written by him and it claimed the their relationship was consensual which later turned into ugly breakup. Now police has said that they are investigating the notes exchanged between them.
