BJP has now clarified the reports of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is going to get another ministry after he stepped down from Education Minister post. While stating the reports ‘fictional’ and ‘unfounded’, cleared that there is no intention of giving Dharmendra Pradhan any other ministry or portfolio.
BJP denied fictional reports claiming former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was offered another ministry after his resignation, which followed protests over the NEET exam leak.
BJP Calls Portfolio Offer Reports Beaseless
While addressing a press conference, BJP’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra has denied the rumours of Pradhan getting another ministry or cabinet position.
“There is no basis to these reports. They are completely fictional and unfounded,” Patra said.
This clarification came after few days of President Droupadi Murmu accepted Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation after the advice of PM Narendra Modi. After his resignation, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has been assigned the additional charge of Ministry of Education till other arrangements are not controlled.
Resignation Followed Weeks of CJP Protest
Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation came after CJP held a nation-wide protest for asking his resignation at its central demand over NEET Paper Leak protest. The central government and CJP leaders met and after a third round of talks, Dharmendra Pradhan announced his resignation on social media.
While announcing his resignation on social media, he said that he gave his four decades in the favour of students, teachers and education reforms. He also thanked PM Modi for allowing him and guiding in his tenure.
“The developments of the last 10 days have saddened me. This is not a matter of personal prestige for me. India’s youth power is the true strength of this country,” he said.
Government Focuses on Exam Reform
According to some reports, Dharmendra Pradhan was also offered another ministry after his resignation but he denied any proposal. However, BJP has denied any claim regarding this and said that no offer was made to him.
This clarification come at the time of when discussions of making reshuffle of cabinet at this political crisis. After the long protest against the Education Ministry now BJP is planning to get the trust of people back through anti-paper leak bill, and education reforms and also make a task force headed by Nandan Nilekani.
