Veteran producer R. B. Choudary, founder of Super Good Films, died in a car accident near Udaipur on Tuesday, eliciting tributes from across the Indian film industry for his contributions to Tamil, Telugu, and other cinema, leaving behind his wife and four sons including actors Jiiva and Jithan Ramesh.

His body is expected to be brought to Chennai for final rites.

Tributes Pour In from Film Fraternity

Several leading actors expressed their grief and paid heartfelt tributes to the late producer.

Rajinikanth described Choudary as a “top-notch producer” and a “wonderful human being,” adding that his death has left him in deep shock.

Chiranjeevi said he was “deeply heartbroken” and praised Choudary’s contribution to cinema, noting how he helped shape the careers of many actors and directors.

Pawan Kalyan recalled working with him on the film Suswagatham and highlighted his ability to produce meaningful, family-oriented films. He expressed disbelief at the tragic accident and extended condolences to the family.

Prithviraj Sukumaran also paid tribute through social media, sharing his respects.

A Legacy Across Film Industries

R. B. Choudary was a well-known name in Indian cinema, especially in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. He also contributed to Malayalam and Hindi films during his long career.

He was the founder of Super Good Films, a production house known for producing several successful and popular films.

His work was often appreciated for strong storytelling, memorable music, and themes that connected with family audiences.

Journey from Business to Cinema

Before entering the film industry, Choudary was involved in businesses such as steel, exports, and jewellery. He began his film career in the Malayalam industry and later moved into Tamil cinema in 1989.

Initially, he worked in partnership with R. Mohan under the “Super” banner. Later, after parting ways, he established Super Good Films, which became one of the most recognised production houses in South Indian cinema.

Family and Personal Life

R. B. Choudary is survived by his wife Mahjabeen and their four sons:

  • Jiiva – actor
  • Jithan Ramesh – actor and producer
  • Suresh – film producer associated with the family banner
  • Jeevan – entrepreneur in the steel business

His family has played an active role in both the film and business sectors.

A Lasting Impact on Indian Cinema

Over the years, Choudary built a reputation for supporting new talent and delivering successful films across languages. Many actors and filmmakers credit him for giving them opportunities early in their careers.

His contribution to Indian cinema goes beyond box office success, as he helped shape the industry with consistent and meaningful productions.
