Sonu Sood Defends Gen Z, Stresses Importance of Public Support
When Sonu Sood was asked about what Kangana Ranaut has said about Gen Z, Sonu first said that he has not heard what she said. However, he took the chance to speak about the importance of these young people and their role in making people successful.
“I haven’t heard her statement. But I feel that these young people are the ones who make actors, and they are the ones who help you reach this position,” Sonu said.
He also added, “As long as they stand by you, you will continue to thrive. If they are not with you, it becomes difficult. That’s why everyone should be taken along.”
‘Public Is Another Form of God,’ Says Sonu
Sonu Sood also said that whatever is the profession one should always depends on public trust and connection of the people.
“Whatever your profession may be, whether you are an actor, a doctor, or anything else, your existence in this world has meaning only as long as people are connected with you,” he said.
When one of the media person told him that Kangana has allegedly referred Gen Z protestors as ‘gutter’, responding to this Sonu said it is ‘shameful’.
“If she has said that, then I think it is very shameful. It should not have been said,” he remarked.
He also suggested the public figures to choose their words very carefully, he said, “There is a saying, ‘Tol mol ke bol’ (weigh your words before speaking). It is very important to think carefully before you speak because the public is another form of God.”
What Sparked the Controversy?
This all controversy started after Kangana Ranaut slammed Gen z protestors on social media and their language that they used during protest at Jantar Mantar.
While reacting to some of the videos, she wrote on Instagram story, “Never in my life have I seen so much ugliness in one place. These reels from Gen Z protests are puke-inducing. The way they speak and the kind of language they are using… never in my life have I seen everything in each and every frame so jarring and so crass all at once.”
