The ongoing investigation into the death of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal has now got one more arrest of Ritesh Hange. He is a friend of prime accused Chetan Chaudhary and according to police, Hange was knew the conspiracy of killing Ketan Agarwal and he discussed this with Chetan also before 18 June incident. He is the third arrest after Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary being prime accused.
Ritesh Hange was arrested for conspiracy in the June 18 murder of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal at Lohagad Fort, reportedly having discussed the killing with prime accused Chetan Chaudhary beforehand.
Ritesh Hange Held Over Alleged Murder Conspiracy
Pune Rural police arrested Hange on Friday after proof of his involvement in the case recovered in mobile phone forensic examination. Police also claimed that his connection to the murder plan came out after deleted WhatsApp chat found.
“During the investigation, it came to light that Ritesh was involved in the planning of Ketan Agarwal’s murder,” Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandip Singh Gill said.
According to one more police officer, Hange was aware of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary’s earlier plan of assaulting Ketan Agarwal before killing him.
“He was aware of the earlier plan of Goyal and Chaudhary to injure Ketan by breaking his hands and legs and subsequently eliminate him. After allegedly executing the murder at Lohagad fort on June 18, Chetan contacted Ritesh and informed him about it,” the officer said, reported PTI.
Hange was produced before the court and later sent to police custody till 12 September. He has been booked under section 61 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, relating to criminal conspiracy.
Police Trace Alleged Planning Through Digital Evidence
The investigation was depended on digital evidence heavily and Police have earlier found that Siya and Chetan had exchanged 2000 calls for around 238 hours between January to June that excludes their FaceTime and WhatsApp communication.
The investigation also found that the pair also discussed several location before Lohagad Fort was selected for the conspiracy. Now Police are investigating Hange’s role in this matter and how much he knew about the plan.
Ketan Agarwal died after being pushed from a cliff at Lohagad Fort on 18 June. Initially Police registered this an accident case as Siya told Police that Ketan slipped from hills while taking photographs. However, later it was revealed that it was a conspiracy and allegedly Siya herself pushed him with the help of Chetan Chaudhary.
