Police arrested 26-year-old Hassam Ahmad at King Georges Medical University after he allegedly collected money from patients by posing as a fake trust representative. Investigators say he also issued forged documents, including a false AIIMS Delhi conference notice aimed at MBBS students. A phone search recovered suspicious files, and police are probing a wider conspiracy.
Officials identified the accused as Hassam Ahmad. Police said MBBS students caught Hassam Ahmad inside the KGMU campus. Officials said Hassam Ahmad was allegedly collecting cash from patients. Police said Hassam Ahmad claimed the money was for a fake group. The group was named Cardio Seva Sansthan.
KGMU arrest and police complaint details
Police said the case began after a complaint from the university’s proctorial office. Police said the complaint pointed to fraud, forgery, and other criminal acts. Deputy Commissioner of Police West Kamlesh Dixit said, “A complaint was received from the acting proctor of the medical university alleging that Hassam Ahmad was involved in cheating patients and their attendants in the name of treatment. Several forged documents were also found in his mobile phone.Based on these facts, an FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway. Necessary legal action will be taken as more facts come to light.\”
Police said a preliminary probe also found a fake notice dated April 13. Police said the notice carried forged signatures of a senior faculty member. Officials said it invited MBBS students from the 2023 batch. Police said it mentioned a conference at AIIMS Delhi on April 29. Police said the conference claim was false.
KGMU arrest and forged documents recovery
Police said checks of Hassam Ahmad’s mobile phone led to several suspicious documents. Investigators said the material suggested more planning than one incident. Police said the focus was on how documents were made and shared. Police added that the recovery helped link the alleged acts to campus activity.
Investigators said Hassam Ahmad may have tried to lure MBBS students to Delhi or other places. Police said the approach used conferences as a cover. Police said female students were a key focus of this suspected plan. Officers said this raised concerns of a wider criminal conspiracy beyond fake paperwork.
KGMU arrest and FIR under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita
Police said an FIR was registered at Chowk police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police said Hassam Ahmad was being interrogated. Officials said every angle, including patient fraud and document forgery, was under review. Police said further action would follow as the investigation produced more evidence.
