Residents in Tehran and the southern port of Bandar Abbas reported loud blasts and aircraft noise on 1 June, according to Iranian media and other local accounts. The reports raised concern about possible security incidents in areas close to the Persian Gulf.

Messages sent to Iran International stated that the sound of fighter jets passed over western, eastern and northern parts of Tehran at about 9:00 a.m. local time. Witnesses described the noise as sustained, though there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

On June 1, Tehran and Bandar Abbas experienced loud blasts and fighter jet sounds around 9:00-9:10 a.m. local time, prompting concern near the strategic Persian Gulf, though officials initially provided no explanation.

Bandar Abbas explosions and fighter jets reports

Shortly after the reported jet activity above Tehran, separate accounts from the coastal city of Bandar Abbas mentioned three consecutive explosions at around 9:10 a.m. local time. The blasts were heard in the port area, which lies on a strategic stretch of the Persian Gulf coastline that hosts important shipping and energy routes.

Officials had not issued any formal explanation for the reported fighter jet movements over Tehran or the three blasts near Bandar Abbas when the initial reports emerged, leaving residents and observers waiting for clarification about what led to the noise and explosions in both locations.
