Dammam: Writer, linguist and social commentator M. N. Karassery unveiled the cover of Mansoor Palloor’s forthcoming Malayalam book, From Mayyazhi to the Desert, at the opening ceremony of the Saudi Malayali Literary Festival. The book is being published by Mathrubhumi Books.
Mansoor Palloor’s new Malayalam book, ‘From Mayyazhi to the Desert,’ had its cover unveiled. It chronicles his personal journey from Mayyazhi to the Gulf, exploring desert life, culture, and tribal traditions. This highly anticipated book promises unique insights into expatriate experiences and will be released in October.
Short-story writer P. K. Parakkadavu, film producer Jolly Lonappan, journalist Sajid Arattupuzha, Saudi Malayali Samajam National President Malik Makbool, General Secretary Dr. Sindhu Binu and Dr. Aji Varghese attended the ceremony.
Beginning with memories of Mayyazhi, the book follows Palloor’s journey to the Gulf. Through personal recollections, it explores desert life, culture, music, nature and tribal traditions. The book is scheduled for release in Mahe in October.
Originally from Mahe and based in Dammam, Mansoor Palloor is a writer, columnist and film producer. His earlier essay collection, To Whom Does the 21st Century Belong?, explored international politics and attracted attention beyond India, including a review by the US-based Kirkus Reviews.
