Filmmaker and producer Pritan Ambroase has claimed that he has faced death threats, attacks on his property and vehicles, and hacking attempts since 2023, which he believes are linked to his work on a film about children affected by the war in Ukraine.

He has reported these incidents to UK authorities, questioning the protection provided, though the allegations remain unconfirmed.
In a recent social media post, Ambroase said he had kept the matter private for nearly four years but decided to speak publicly after his car was allegedly broken into in Chelsea, London.
Ambroase claimed that the attackers smashed the car window and took a laptop, work phones, passport, official documents and hard drives. He said jewellery, designer clothes and watches inside the vehicle were not taken.
According to Ambroase, some of the belongings were later found abandoned at a nearby park. He said the most concerning items taken were a hard drive marked “Ukraine 2023-2024” and a folder containing documents related to his Ukraine projects and IDs.
He described the incident as a targeted attack, but there is no independent confirmation so far that the break-in was connected to his film or that it was an act of terrorism.
Ambroase Questions UK Police Protection
Ambroase said British police and UK counter-terrorism authorities became involved after he began reporting threats in 2024.
He questioned why he had not received the protection he expected despite several meetings and what he described as assurances from authorities.
“Why no protection for past two years?” he asked in his post while directly addressing the Metropolitan Police’s counter-terrorism department.
He also claimed that his companies had been hacked and that the alleged attacks had continued since he began working in Ukraine.
He Links The Alleged Attacks To His Ukraine Film
Ambroase said he travelled to Ukraine several times in 2023 while working on “Can I Go Home Now?”, a film about children living through the effects of war.
He has repeatedly described the film as a humanitarian project rather than a political one. According to Ambroase, the film focuses on children’s experiences and is not intended to target or oppose any particular country.
He said the alleged attacks increased after The Independent published an article about the film.
Ambroase also alleged that The Hollywood Insider, the media network he heads, was hacked.

The film aims to highlight the experiences of children affected by war, violence and displacement. Ambroase has said that children, rather than politicians or government representatives, are at the centre of the film.
The project also involves several prominent names. Ambroase has highlighted the participation of A R Rahman, along with Susan Bala, Dennis Davidson and Brooks Newmark. He said a 32-track album was also created for the project.
‘I Am Simply An Artist And Humanitarian’
Ambroase has rejected any suggestion that the film is intended to promote a political agenda.
In his statement, he said he is “simply an artist & humanitarian” and argued that he does not have the power to challenge any government.
He appealed to authorities to protect him and called for the film to be released, saying it was made to give children affected by conflict a voice.
However, the filmmaker’s allegations about threats, hacking and the alleged connection between the incidents and his Ukraine work have not been independently verified.
‘It’s Enough Now’
Ambroase ended his statement by referring to a line from the film: “It’s enough now. You can stop shooting.”
He said the same message now applied to the alleged attacks against him.
The filmmaker is seeking protection and has also urged the public to support the release of Can I Go Home Now?, which he says was created to tell the stories of children affected by war.
