US president Donald Trump has said that the United States has ‘total control’ over Strait of Hormuz and claims Washington’s naval blockade as ‘A Wall of Steel’. His remarks came at the time of high tensions between US and Iran and stopped diplomatic efforts between both the countries.

Former US President Donald Trump asserted the US has “total control” over the Strait of Hormuz, calling its naval blockade a “Wall of Steel,” while claiming Iran’s military and economy are severely weakened amid heightened tensions and stalled diplomatic efforts.

Trump Claims US Controls Strait Of Hormuz

Trump on his post on Truth Social said that the US ‘will keep’ control of the strategically important waterway and claimed that Iran has no way to challenge American position.

“The USA has total control over the Strait of Hormuz. I THINK WE WILL KEEP IT! Our Naval Blockade is being called, by everyone, “A WALL OF STEEL,” and there is nothing Iran can do about it,” Trump said.

The strait of Hormuz is a crucial global shipping route that connects Persian Gulf with Gulf of Oman. The prolonged disruption create long term consequences for international energy supplies globally.

Trump Attacks Iran’s Military And Economy

Trump also claimed about Iran’s military strength and economic situation. He said Iran had “no Navy” and “no Air Force”, he even claimed that remaining soldiers are also unpaid and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had also been weakened.

“They have no Navy, they have no Air Force, their remaining soldiers are unpaid, the IRGC is decimated and fleeing, and their “Leadership” is uncertain, at best!” Trump said.

He also claimed that Iran had ‘no money’ and described the country is ‘shot’.

“All they have is FAKE NEWS and 300% INFLATION, and getting worse!” Trump said also calling Iran the “bully of the Middle East”.

Iran Reportedly Shifts To Offensive Military Approach

US president’s comment has come at the time when Iran was reportedly reorganising its military amid stalled talks with US. An adviser to the IRGC commander, Mohammad Reza Naqdi told Iranian media that recent military appointments by Mojtaba Khamenei shows their shift towards ‘offensive doctrine’.

“Whenever the conditions are favorable and the order is issued, we must be able to take the operation into enemy territory,” Naqdi said.

This change makes a mark on departure from Iran’s defence and protecting its territory. These developments are likely add more concerns over escalations tension between Iran and US.
