‘Pawn Stars’ Favourite Rick Harrison is facing a scary health scare this week. The 61-year-old reality star was forced to have emergency bypass surgery after he arrived at the hospital for a much less invasive treatment.
A family spokesperson released a statement saying that the doctors decided that he would need the surgery. Bypass surgery is a procedure to restore or improve blood circulation. It appears that the procedure was much more serious than Harrison had been originally led to believe.
Despite the frightening turn of events, the latest news on Harrison’s condition is positive. His family’s spokesperson stated that the star was resting comfortably after the procedure and is optimistic about his swift recovery.
Harrison’s family members have been by his side as he goes through the rehabilitation process. His wife, Angie Polushkin, and the rest of his children have been allowed to stay with him in the hospital.
His family has yet to reveal what prompted the emergency medical procedure.
Harrison has been through a lot after the tragic death of his son Adam from a drug overdose in 2024. The star has six children, namely Corey, Adam, Jake, Sarina, Ciana and Marissa.
Harrison rose to fame after the launch of the History Channel’s “Pawn Stars” reality series in 2009. He plays a pivotal role as the owner of Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, which is located on Las Vegas Boulevard. His eldest son, Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison, is also a main cast member on the show. Another son, Jake Harrison, has also appeared on the show.
