As the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest continued at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, several participants shared their frustrations over issues ranging from alleged paper leaks and unemployment to what they described as shrinking space for dissent in the country.

Protesters from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar voiced concerns regarding exam paper leaks, unemployment, and reduced space for dissent, criticizing economic policies and leadership.

One protester, speaking from the gathering, criticised the government over economic and educational concerns and questioned why repeated examination controversies continue to affect students and job seekers.

Questions Raised Over Economy And Leadership

The protester referred to statements made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi before coming to power in 2014 regarding the value of the Indian rupee. He argued that despite concerns over the economy, those in power do not appear willing to acknowledge public dissatisfaction.

According to him, ordinary citizens continue to struggle with rising challenges while political leaders remain disconnected from the concerns of common people.

Here’s What A Protester say:

“What can I say? We have been watching this since 2014. Before becoming Prime Minister in 2014, Narendra Modi used to say that when a country’s currency keeps falling, it means the country’s Prime Minister has fallen. Nepal’s currency is not falling, Bangladesh’s currency is not falling, so why is India’s currency falling? Now the Prime Minister does not even seem to feel that things have gone wrong.

All the top leaders in India-whether they are accused of serious crimes, corruption, or are linked to controversies-are protected and accommodated. They became leaders under this Constitution, yet they themselves do not respect the Constitution. Instead, they use it selectively against others, file false cases, and target good people.

People like Sonam Wangchuk and Khan Sir are being targeted and implicated.

Preparations are being made to send them to jail. Education in the country is being ruined. People are being encouraged to focus on symbolic issues and communal divisions instead of real problems. And when people refuse to fight among themselves, attempts are made to target and harass those from weaker sections of society.

If someone protests for any cause, they are either silenced, disappeared, or imprisoned. The murder of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh was one of the earliest examples. Even today, people feel justice has not been delivered. The media is frightened, and those media organisations that act as supporters of those in power are often referred to by critics as ‘Godi Media.’

We are poor people who work as daily wage labourers to educate our children. But those in power think that if these children study, pass examinations, and become qualified, they will have to be given jobs. That is why exam papers get leaked. Through these paper leaks, they take our votes, destroy our children’s future, and when we protest, they put us in jail. In some cases, people are even attacked or killed.

This is what is happening in the country today. That is why, through the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), we are protesting within the framework of the Constitution to remove what we see as an ineffective ruler and to seek the removal of the Education Minister.”
