Three people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and an autorickshaw here on Saturday evening, police said. Additional Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh said the accident occurred near Mohammadpur Tanda village under the Kotwali police station area when the truck and the autorickshaw, carrying three occupants, collided head-on.

Police reached the spot, took the bodies into custody and sent them for a post-mortem examination.
The officer said the truck has been seized, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest its driver. Dr Ram Lal Yadav, posted at the Sambhal Joint District Hospital, said three injured persons were brought to the hospital.
Two of them were declared brought dead, while the third succumbed to injuries during treatment. The identities of the deceased were yet to be established, police said, adding that further investigation is underway.
