Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday continued his attacks on Samajwadi Party, saying that voters will “wipe out” his party in the next Assembly elections.
Speaking at a function in Lucknow, Adityanath accused Samajwadi Party of putting their family interests before the interests of the poor. He also criticized Akhilesh Yadav, the chief of the SP, for his recent comments on the family’s political clout.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath criticized the Samajwadi Party in Lucknow, announcing welfare improvements for mid-day meal cooks including higher honorarium, health insurance, and doubled saree amounts, while highlighting school reforms under Operation Kayakalp.
Yogi Adityanath was speaking at a felicitation function for mid-day meal cooks and distribution of cashless health cards. He announced several welfare measures for the cooks working in government primary schools. The honorarium of these cooks will be increased and ₹2 lakh will be provided in case of any accident along with cashless treatment of up to ₹5 lakh.
The amount of sarees will also be doubled from ₹500 to ₹1,000.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister criticized the previous Samajwadi Party government for not taking these measures while in power. He alleged that welfare of the poor and the development of the state was not the priority of the SP.
Adityanath accused Akhilesh Yadav and his party of using the poor for their political gains and not taking any steps for the development of the state. He said that the state was witness to land grabbing, insecurity of women, riots, and communal clashes during the SP rule. The Chief Minister also claimed that he has improved the law and order situation of the state which will help in investment and development.
Adityanath also ridiculed Akhilesh Yadav for his “extravagant” lifestyle and alleged that he could not take care of the state due to his irresponsible behavior. He said that Yadav’s habit of sleeping late, going to the gym and hanging out in the evenings does not let him focus on his work.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also spoke about his government’s focus on education. He said that government schools have seen a major transformation since 2017. Operation Kayakalp has been launched to bring improvement in government school education by formulating 19 standards for infrastructure and other facilities.
