WEDTALKS FORUM TO MAKE GLOBAL DEBUT AT COLOMBO FASHION WEEK, CONNECTING DESTINATION WEDDINGS, FASHION, HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM. A new global B2B platform by Platinum World Grroup soon launches in Colombo, connecting international wedding and event planners with hotels, destinations, policymakers and fashion leaders. WedTalks Forum, an IP by Platinum World Grroup (PWG), will be presented on 19 September 2026 alongside Colombo Fashion Week, marking the first edition of a new international platform designed to connect the global wedding and events industry with the worlds of fashion, hospitality, destinations and policy. The inaugural WedTalks Forum will be hosted at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams Colombo, bringing together leading wedding and event planners, hoteliers, destination representatives, policymakers, fashion designers and other stakeholders from across the luxury wedding and hospitality ecosystem.

The launch is complemented by the WedTalks Forum FAM Trip from 18–24 September 2026, bringing a curated delegation of wedding industry leaders from India and the UAE to Sri Lanka. The programme will showcase Sri Lanka’s capabilities as a destination for weddings, celebrations, luxury events and incentive travel while facilitating direct B2B engagement between planners, hotels, resorts and destination stakeholders. The FAM experience is being supported by Aitken Spence Travels for travel logistics, with participating hospitality partners including Cinnamon Life at City Of Dreams, Shangri-La Colombo, Shangri-La Hambantota, Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa and Sheraton Kosgoda Turtle Beach Resort.

While fashion and weddings have always been closely connected through bridal couture, jewellery, beauty, luxury and celebration, the two industries have largely operated through separate platforms. WedTalks Forum is designed to bridge that gap. Future editions could see WedTalks Forum connect with fashion and luxury ecosystems across Dubai, Mumbai, London, Paris, Milan, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, Bangkok and other global destinations, with strategic partnerships with the respective fashion and destination platforms.
