Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath handed over appointment letters to 912 candidates selected for different posts in UP Police department on Sunday. The programme was held at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow.
In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath awarded appointment letters to 912 UP Police recruits selected through the Direct Recruitment-2023 process, highlighting recruitment reforms and announcing plans to provide an additional 1 lakh jobs within six months.
The candidates were selected after Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board under the Direct Recruitment-2023 process. The selection includes posts Police Sub-Inspector (Confidential), Assistant Sub-Inspector (Clerk) and Assistant Sub-Inspector (Accounts).
912 Candidates Join UP Police
inance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna and other officials were also there when CM Yogi handed over appointment letters in the programme.
While addressing the candidates, CM Yogi said that changes made in the government recruitment system after 2017. He said that young people had earlier lost confidence in recruitment process because of favouritism and irregularities.
The chief minister said his government removed interviews for Group C and Group D posts to make the recruitment process more transparent. “Sare pad pehle jaise hi hain, sirf kaam karne ka tareeka badla hai,” he said.
Yogi Talks About UP’s Law And Order
Yogi also highlighted the changes he claimed had taken place in Uttar Pradesh’s law and order situation since 2017.
He referred to earlier incidents of riots and long periods of curfew and said the situation had changed under his government. He also spoke about the role of the Uttar Pradesh Police in maintaining law and order.
Talking about the Mahakumbh, the chief minister said 66 crore devotees visited the event. He said the arrangements received positive feedback from visitors.
Taking a jibe at the Samajwadi Party, Yogi said, “Aaj hum dangon ki mock drill karate hain, taaki log bhool na jaayen.”
CM Announces 1 Lakh More Jobs
Yogi Adityanath also announced that the Uttar Pradesh government plans to provide one lakh more jobs over the next six months.
He claimed that around 9.5 lakh young people had already received government jobs during the last 9.5 years. He further said Uttar Pradesh is now among the states that can describe itself as revenue-surplus.
