A Delhi Police constable was removed from BRICS Summit 2026 security duty after he posted reels on social media showing his weapon and security locations that later went viral.
A Delhi Police constable was removed from BRICS Summit 2026 security duties in Delhi after viral social media videos showcased his firearm and sensitive locations, prompting a departmental inquiry into potential security rule violations.
The constable was seen wearing a BRICS summit identity card in his viral videos. According to police they took action after many social media flagged the issue by tagging his videos. The videos were uploaded to Instagram rapidly in the last few days.
Departmental Inquiry Ordered
Delhi Police has said the constable is posted in the northwest district and a departmental inquiry has now been started to check his social media posts whether they violated any security rules or not.
“A departmental inquiry has been initiated against him. He is also likely to be suspended from duties,” police officers said on Sunday.
The constable was later removed from the BRICS security duties and sent to back to his post in northwest district.
Posted At Key BRICS Locations
The Police said that the constable had earlier been posted at and around five-star hotels and other important locations connected with BRICS guests.
He was currently posted at Bangladeshi cell and officials there working in the unit conduct raids and collection information about foreign citizens who are illegally living in India.
The videos faced social media trolling because it clearly showed constable’s firearms and footage from the places where he was performing his duties.
High Security In Delhi For BRICS Summit
The action comes as Delhi remains under tight security for the 18th BRICS Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam.
Security was strengthened across the capital because of the presence of foreign leaders and delegates. Police personnel had been deployed at key hotels, roads, venues and other locations linked to the summit.
