At least four CISF Jawans, including an assistant commandant, were killed after a colleague allegedly open fired them in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday evening. This has been confirmed by officials.

Four CISF personnel, including Assistant Commandant Ankit Kumar Pandey, were killed Tuesday evening in Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir, after Head Constable Abhidesh Kumar allegedly opened fire following an argument at the Sewa-III hydroelectric project.
Four CISF Personnel Killed In Firing
The CISF incident was reported around 7.30 PM from the Sewa-III hydroelectric power project in Mashka village, Basohli, near the Himachal Pradesh border.
According to officials, Head Constable Abhidesh Kumar allegedly used his service rifle during the incident that sparked after a heated argument with some colleagues. However, what circumstances led to the argument are still being investigated.
Four Personnel Succumb To Injuries
Four CISF personnel sustained critical injuries in the firing and later succumbed to their injuries at nearby NHPC hospital, the officials said.
The deceased were identified as Assistant Commandant Ankit Kumar Pandey, Sub-Inspector Lakshman Singh and constables Rafiq Ahmed and Sandeep Kumar.
Accused Arrested, Service Rifle Seized
Following the firing, the accused was overpowered by his colleagues and subsequently arrested.
The service weapon used in the incident was also seized as part of the investigation, the officials said.
Probe Underway Into Firing Incident
Senior CISF and police officers rushed to the scene following the incident.
The officials said the exact circumstances that led to the argument and the subsequent firing are being ascertained as part of the investigation.
