In a remarkable display of unity, gratitude, and dedication, 220 teachers from 11 schools across Tamil Nadu joined together to create a virtual rendition of the Indian National Anthem during one of the nation’s most challenging periods. At the center of this historic initiative was H. Anand Kirubakaran, an English and Music Teacher at CSI Jessie Moses Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Anna Nagar, Chennai. Through his vision, leadership, and technical expertise, hundreds of individually recorded performances were transformed into a single tribute that celebrated the spirit of service, resilience, and national pride.
Following all government prescribed COVID-19 safety protocols, each participant recorded a performance independently, using a mobile phone from a separate location. The demanding responsibility of compiling, synchronizing, editing, and producing the entire project was undertaken by Anand, whose commitment, creativity, and perseverance ensured that every voice was heard with clarity and purpose. The project not only highlighted musical excellence but also demonstrated how educators can inspire communities even during times of uncertainty and challenge.
The initiative also brought special recognition to the CSI family of schools including CSI Jessie Moses Matriculation Higher Secondary School, CSI Monahan Matriculation Higher Secondary School, CSI St. David’s Matriculation School, CSI St. Hilda’s and St. Hugh’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School, and CSI St. Stephen’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School. Their collective participation reflected the values of service, compassion, excellence, and social responsibility. More than a patriotic presentation, this tribute became a message of hope, gratitude, and unity for future generations across Tamil Nadu today.
