Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday decided to cancel the JSSC-CGL examinations after he conceded to the demands of the protesters who alleged corruption in the state’s recruitment process.
Hemant Soren said the state Cabinet has decided to cancel the JSSC-CGL exams and directed to conduct a probe into all the irregularities in the exams conducted by various commissions since 2014. It may be noted here that a committee led by IAS officer Amitabh Kaushal will submit its report on recommendations to revise the system of examination reforms.
Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren cancelled the JSSC-CGL exams following corruption allegations, launching a probe into recruitment irregularities since 2014 and suspending exams linked to agency TDPL, whose associate Abhay Tiwari was arrested.
Meanwhile, chief minister announced that the examinations conducted by Lucknow-based private agency, TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL) will also be canceled.
But this decision has led to another protest as those who have already cleared the JSSC-CGL examination and are in the process of joining the government services were against the decision. A huge police force was on standby as the protesters reached out to the project Bhavan Secretariat. However, it is pertinent to mention here that the TDPL agency has been accused of malpractices in the examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission.
The private agency has also been blacklisted by the Jharkhand government way back in May 2025 in connection with examination irregularities. In this connection, an official of the state CID arrested an individual named Abhay Tiwari, popularly known as Manoj Kumar Tiwari, block supply officer in Godda district, for his alleged role in the recruitment racket. The state CID alleged that he was working in tandem with the TDPL as its marketing manager.
