Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday said villages in the state should become the most developed in the country. Bhagwant Mann asked sarpanches to lead this change in rural Punjab. Bhagwant Mann said the Punjab government was focused on overall village development. Bhagwant Mann added that rural works would not face a shortage of funds.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann told sarpanches and panchs at a Sarpanch Milni programme that village development should be a state priority. He said rural works would not face a funds shortage and urged panchayats to use grants wisely. Mann highlighted education, infrastructure, libraries, schools and solar-powered facilities as key needs.

Bhagwant Mann was interacting with sarpanches and panchs from Rampura Phul and Talwandi Sabo. The interaction took place during a Sarpanch Milni programme. Bhagwant Mann said the programme was meant to hear village concerns. Bhagwant Mann said officials would work on solutions based on those inputs.

Punjab villages development: funds, grants and accountability

Bhagwant Mann said sufficient grants were being given to villages. Bhagwant Mann said the money must be used honestly and efficiently. Bhagwant Mann urged panchayats to use government grants with care. Bhagwant Mann said development should benefit every section of society.

Bhagwant Mann said panchayats were important for implementing government policies and welfare schemes. Bhagwant Mann asked sarpanches to track development works closely. Bhagwant Mann said transparency should be ensured during execution. Bhagwant Mann said a capable sarpanch could improve village life through effective work.

Punjab villages development: focus on education and infrastructure

Bhagwant Mann said villages should prioritise education and rural infrastructure. Bhagwant Mann listed libraries and schools as key needs. Bhagwant Mann also stressed solar-powered facilities for balanced village growth. Bhagwant Mann said these steps would support long-term progress across rural Punjab.

During the meeting, rural development projects were discussed in detail. The supply of canal water to farmers also came up. Discussions also covered state government achievements. These included providing jobs on merit and improving the quality of education.

Bhagwant Mann said that after election, a sarpanch represented the whole village. Bhagwant Mann said sarpanches should work impartially for all residents. Bhagwant Mann also praised villages that elected panchayats unanimously. Bhagwant Mann said such choices improved social harmony and helped speed up development.

Bhagwant Mann noted growing participation of women in local governance. Bhagwant Mann encouraged women sarpanches to take a larger role in public life. Bhagwant Mann said women had done well in almost every field. Bhagwant Mann said women should now take part more in decision-making.

Bhagwant Mann said education, representation and economic opportunities were key to womens empowerment. Bhagwant Mann said greater participation of women in politics would strengthen democracy. Bhagwant Mann added that this would help build a progressive and prosperous Punjab. Bhagwant Mann said village development would improve when leadership stayed fair and accountable.
