Tablets (India) Limited has issued a clarification distancing itself from the deadly boiler explosion at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, after reports about the accident led to confusion over the identity of the company involved.
The clarification comes a day after a boiler exploded at the TIL Healthcare Private Limited facility in the Sri City Special Economic Zone in Tirupati district on October 3. The incident killed five workers and injured several others, according to reports. The explosion also caused substantial damage to the factory premises, prompting rescue operations and a government-ordered investigation.
Following a deadly October 3 boiler explosion at TIL Healthcare’s Sri City, Andhra Pradesh facility that killed five workers, Tablets (India) Limited issued a clarification stating it is a separate entity from TIL Healthcare and has no operations in Sri City.

Why did Tablets (India) issue a clarification?
The confusion appears to stem largely from the similarity in the names Tablets (India) Limited and TIL Healthcare Private Limited. Some initial reports about the accident referred to the Sri City facility as a “Tablets India” or “Tablets India Limited Healthcare” unit, creating the possibility that readers could associate the accident directly with Tablets (India) Limited.
Tablets (India) has now categorically stated that it does not have a factory or manufacturing facility in Sri City.
The company also said that TIL Healthcare Private Limited and Tablets (India) Limited are separate and independent entities, with no common ownership or management. It issued the statement specifically to correct what it described as a misunderstanding and to ensure that the two companies are not treated as the same entity.
The clarification is significant because the Sri City accident has triggered a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the boiler explosion. Authorities have ordered a probe into possible safety lapses and the cause of the blast. A boiler inspector has also reportedly been suspended as part of the investigation.
What happened at Sri City?
The explosion took place at the TIL Healthcare facility in Sri City on Saturday morning. Initial reports put the death toll lower, but the number later rose to five as some critically injured workers died during treatment. More than 10 people were reported injured.
Emergency teams, police and fire personnel rushed to the facility following the blast. The exact cause of the explosion remains under investigation. A preliminary report cited by The Times of India suggested that water deprivation may have contributed to the boiler failure, although the investigation is expected to establish whether the accident resulted from a mechanical problem, human error or another factor.
The Andhra Pradesh government has ordered a high-level inquiry, while authorities have also indicated that safety audits and investigations will be carried out.
Amid the tragedy, Tablets (India) expressed condolences to the families of the deceased workers but urged the media and public to clearly distinguish between the two companies.
The company said its clarification was intended to correct the record, prevent further misunderstanding and ensure accurate reporting of the Sri City incident.
