Sonam Wangchuk has released one more video, shot in the hospital, claiming he wanted to go out of hospital but Delhi Police stopped him and harassed him. Sonam Wangchuk said he actually had to do another strike in hunger strike, lay down on ground and protest to come out.
Sonam Wangchuk said, he was actually under detention and restrictions. He was not allowed to step outside or meet anyone.
Activist Sonam Wangchuk claimed detention at Safdarjung Hospital after his 26-day hunger strike, stating Delhi Police initially ignored a Delhi High Court order for transfer to a private facility, forcing him to protest for release and later addressing questions about his strike.
Thanking his friends and wife, who came from Ladakh to rescue him from Safdarjung Hospital, where he was actually detained.

He infromed that Delhi High Court’s single bench had rejected to pass order to move him, but his wife did not give up and filed the plea again in front of double bench, who finally passed the order to move him to a private hospital as per Sonam Wangchuk’s wish.
Shockingly, the Delhi police still did not allow him to go out saying they have not received any order. Higher Police officials got the orders at 2pm, but they did not pass it to on-duty officers in hospital till 7pm.
Sonam Wangchuk said he had to stage a protest on ground in Safdarjung hospital and forcefully had to come out of hospital.
With a heavy heart, Sonam Wanchuk said he doesn’t need any character certificate from anyone.
Sonam Wangchuk, who lost 11 kg and damaged body tissues, after 26 days of hunger strike, took on people head-on who are questioning his intentions and asking why he broke the hunger strike. Sonam Wangchuk highlighted questions like what deal has been made? Why did he choose BJP ministers to end his hunger strike? And why not someone else?
Clearing the air, he said, have you ever seen anyone doing a 26-day hunger strike for a deal? If he wanted a deal, he could have chosen to sit in air-conditioned rooms instead of sitting in protest on Delhi roads in scorching heat.
People cannot even imagine he went under what. What his family faced.
Sonam Wangchuk added that he did not release the mobile recording of hospital earlier thinking of policemen may loose their jobs, but now when people want to know what happened in hospital, they should know the whole truth. How police snatched their phone, what he and his family had to deal with.
Sonam Wangchuk also opened up on what talks happened with Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh. He said ministers asked him to break his fast, so he asked them to note down students’ demands. First, resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. Second, no protesting student should be prosecuted, and third, compensation to families of students who died because of paper leak.
When they promised 2 out of 3, and gave a written commitment, and 64 opposition leaders also urged him to end hunger strike, then only agreed to ended his hunger protest.
