Suriya is back with his latest movie Vishwanath and Sons. He has collaborated with Venky Atluri of Lucky Bhaskar and Mr Majnu fame.

The bilingual movie made in Tamil and Telugu has Mamitha Baiju, Radhika Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, Nassar, Kaali Venkat, Kalyani Natarajan, Rajiv Menon and others in the cast.

Venky Atluri’s “Vishwanath and Sons,” starring Suriya, Mamitha Baiju, and Radhika Sarathkumar, is seen as a watchable family entertainer. Critics note strong performances and dialogue but cite a weak, melodramatic second half, rating it 2.5/5.

Vishwanath and Sons Movie Review What s Good What s Bad In Suriya s Film

The film has GV Prakash Kumar’s music, Nimish Ravi’s cinematography and Navin Nooli’s editing.

For decades, Sanjay Vishwanath chased excellence on the international shooting range. Now, caught in the crossfire of growing older, family duties, and a sudden romance, he must figure out what matters most when his ambitions collide with reality.

The movie has garnered a lot of buzz with its trailer and promos. The cast and crew have taken efforts to promote the movie well. Will it live up to the viewers’ expectations? Find out from the netizen’s comments below:

AmuthaBharathi: #VishwanathAndSons – Excellent First Half, Followed by an Decent Second half🤝

A Complete Feel Good entertainer overloaded with Many Fun moment and a bit of emotional sequences👌

Providing an apt climax was the toughest one for the film, but it was perfectly mounted by VenkiAtluri, which came out wholesome & Lovely

Christopher Kanagaraj: #VishwanathAndSons – Suriya is Super Charming. Mamitha-Radhika combo total Fun. GV’s BGM Supports. Interesting 1st Hlf, 2nd Hlf doesnt hv any conflict & goes to Melodrama zone. Dialogues, Hospital Seq, Trip Comedy, Hotel Fight & Climax r highlights. OKAYish Feel Gud Family Drama!

Venky Reviews: #VishwanathAndSons A Watchable, Clean Family Entertainer With a Good 1st Half but a Weak 2nd Half!

After a slow start, the first half feels refreshing and stays focused on the core plot with a good mix of fun and emotion. Just when you expect that flow to continue, the second half drifts into melodrama with subplots that don’t really work and the fun becoming limited. The climax is handled a little better.

Suriya, Mamitha, and Radhika all deliver solid performances. Venky Atluri’s dialogue writing is the film’s biggest strength, while the music is adequate. The second half simply needed better writing. Still, it works once as a clean timepass family entertainer, though it had the potential to be much better.

Rating: 2.5/5

M9 News: #VishwanathAndSons Review: Likeable Suriya, Some Warm Drama

#VAS takes quite a bit of time to find its groove, with several routine and cliched scenes in the first half. But midway through, it becomes entertaining and engaging with a couple of good blocks leading to a fun interval.

Second half also offers a few nicely written stretches and a neat climax, but feels lengthy due to some drag and melodrama. Proper organic drama is missing as well. As it stands, it is a decent feel-good drama. Go for it!

Suriya plays his age, which works well for the role. He performs well in a key emotional scene, while Venky Atluri presents him as a likeable character throughout. The casting of Radhika and Mamitha is spot-on, and a few well-written dialogues land effectively.

A decent watch, with some reservations.

M9 Rating: 2.5/5

Sathvik 🐉: Feels a bit dragged but decent 2nd half.. Not perfect, but a good family entertainer
